Volunteer: Domestic Violence Helpline VolunteersVolunteer Advocates are always needed to help cover our 24-hour helpline. Do your friends tell you that you are a very good listener? Are you a compassionate and caring person with excellent personal boundaries? Our 44-hour crisis intervention training prepares our volunteers to take calls from people who are affected by domestic violence. These are people in our communities who might be directly affected as a victim, concerned about a family member, or a professional needing information on how to help the person they are working with. Volunteers usually take calls from the comfort of their own home and always have a staff member available to back them up.
