Join The Morris Farm with the Lincoln County Gleaners to help redirect surplus and unmarketable produce to food security organizations by working with local farms to take excess food from the fields or farmers' markets and deliver that food to local food pantries, soup kitchens and other sites serving our community.

Who: Anyone willing/able to bend, pick, lift, and/or drive

What: Harvest produce for food security organizations

Where: Local participating farms in Lincoln County

When: Occasional mornings in afternoons during spring, summer and fall (harvest seasons for various produce)

How: We coordinate the site, you show up and harvest

As a volunteer of the Morris Farm Store you help:

Fulfill our mission to provide fresh, local Maine produce and products for all members of the community Build the Morris Farm’s food education efforts through activities that you can help us develop Assist the Morris Farm Trust’s AmeriCorps/VISTA to address food security in our area

Responsibilities in the farm store:

Work one 3-4 hour shift per week Serve customers and log in deliveries Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for shoppers Optional activity: help develop easy “veggie” recipes or work on “food facts” signage

Benefits as a volunteer:

Discounts on purchases in the store The satisfaction of helping to achieve our mission After 10 volunteer hours you are automatically considered a “Community Partner” member of The Morris Farm Trust
