Volunteer: Storyteller & Interpreter (Docent)Help tell history's forgotten stories. We invite you to join the crewe! MFS relies on volunteer docents to welcome visitors and to share the stories of the Popham Colony, the original Virginia, and of Maine's First Ship. We need guides who can work regular shifts and those who can fill in when needed. This is a fun way to interact with people from all over--from locals to international tourists. Flexible schedules are created monthly. Summer is our busy season with a need for docents lasting into the fall. We will train new volunteers as necessary. Volunteers under 18 are welcome when accompanied by an adult. If interested, contact the MFS office, mfs@mfship.org, and we will share your info with the volunteers who organize the visitor center and docent training and scheduling.
