Who We Are

The Waldo is a cultural cornerstone that connects, enriches, and entertains our community. Our small team of operational staff at the Waldo Theater, as well as our Board of Directors and amazing volunteers, are deeply committed to the stewardship of this beautiful historic building. We believe in the transformative power of arts. To us, our theater is more than simply a performance and movie venue. Through educational programs (including after-school activities, a reputable youth arts program, summer workshops and other events), the Waldo seeks to enrich and enhance the cultural offerings available to local residents and visitors, especially young minds. The driving force behind everyting we do is to enhance the quality of life for us all. Having reopened in 2021 after decades of closure, we're proud to say this vibrant, beautifully restored theatre serves as a cultural hub. Our endgoal? To spark an economic and cultural renaissance in downtown Waldoboro and across the Midcoast region.
