Who We Are

What, you may be asking, is a “triad”? A "triad", in this case, is a local partnership of three entities - law enforcement, senior citizens, and community service agencies, who work together to help reduce the criminal victimization of older adults, and that advocates for their safety and well-being.

What We Do

What does Merrymeeting Bay Triad do? It involves by uniting seniors, community service agencies, law enforcement, and fire and rescue to identify problem areas, and to develop solutions for seniors in the local community by sponsoring crime prevention and public education for older adults. It communicates by providing a forum for law enforcement and the community to share needs and concerns. It educates by sponsoring and coordinating education programs on crime prevention, safety and security, fraud and other criminal activity. They also provide information on community service resources. It assists by recruiting and training volunteers to assist local law enforcement agencies in crimes targeting older residents. It reassures by coordinating reassurance programs to reduce unnecessary fear and provide moral support and advocacy.
