Midcoast Maine CA$H is a free tax preparation service provided by IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers for households earning up to $69,000 annually. Financial education is also provided. Volunteers select which days and times work best for their schedule. We provide tax services the end of January through mid-April. Free training is provided.
Help make a real financial impact on hundreds of people in Mid Coast Maine. Volunteers needed for the following positions:
- Tax Preparers receive training to become IRS certified. No prior experience needed. Volunteers complete tax returns under the guidance of an advanced tax preparer.
- Greeters welcome tax filers, review paperwork, and manage the overall flow of service.
- Opportunity Guides advise tax filers on local resources or services that could help them address their financial challenges and meet their goals.
- A Scheduler sets up tax appointments for tax filers using an online platform. Scheduling starts in mid-January and continues through mid-April.
