Who We Are

Community Spay-Neuter Clinic is part of the National Spay and Neuter Response Team, made up of 140 high-volume, low-cost, high-quality spay-neuter clinics in the country. The Clinic targets low-income pet owners for their subsidized sterilization services in order to reduce the financial barrier to spay-neuter. The Clinic's mission is to reduce pet overpopulation and homelessness, and also works with shelter and rescue groups to facilitate the transportation of public animals to the Topsham Clinic. To date, the Clinic has performed over 18,000 sterilizations of dogs and cats! We provide free transport of cats and dogs from Bangor, Waterville, Augusta, and Thomaston.

What We Do

Our Clinic relies on our volunteers to help keep prices low for those pet owners that need our services. Volunteers work side by side our veterinary staff and provide assistance to our veterinary technical team. Volunteers help with preparation of surgical packs, laundry, and general light cleaning, among other things. Additional volunteer opportunities exist for fundraising, events, and office work. We will do our best to match your interests and abilities to the work we do.
