Who We Are
Home To Home was established to assist parents with the exchange of their children from one parent to the other. This service helps to reduce domestic altercations and violence between parents when exchanging their children for visitations by providing a safe, stress-free, and supervised setting. Home To Home is a United Way sponsored non-profit organization, founded in 1996. Judge Field of the West Bath District Court saw a need for divorced/separated parents to have a safe environment to exchange their children when transitioning them from one home to the other. Prior to using Home To Home many parents made attempts at exchanging their children in public areas, but anxiety and conflict would arise and make these exchanges difficult. Home To Home allows parents to see their children without seeing each other, making exchanges smooth for children and parents and subsequently reducing the risk for domestic violence during child exchanges. These exchanges occur during the following days/times and are covered by Home To Home volunteers to avoid parents having contact with each other. Sunday mornings 9:00am-9:30am; Sunday evenings 5:00pm-6:00pm; Wednesday evenings 7:00pm-7:30pm; Friday evenings 4:30pm-6:30pm; and Saturday evenings 5:00pm-6:00pm.
What We Do
Home To Home is available to parents that need a safe environment to facilitate smooth exchanges of their children to the other parent for their regular visitation agreement/order or an area to meet with a supervisor for a scheduled visit on-site with their children. Home To Home may be court ordered or parents may voluntarily decide to be a part of the program. Volunteers and visit supervisors are all carefully screened and trained to recognize and document/report possible concerns during a visit/exchange.
