Who We Are
Pejepscot History Center shares the rich history of the mid-coast region with residents and tourists alike. The Center collects, preserves and interprets the history of Brunswick, Topsham, and Harpswell through educational programs, exhibitions, and museums. Founded in 1888, Pejepscot History Center is the fourth oldest history collecting organization in the state of Maine. The Center was operated solely by volunteers for much of its existence. Since the 1970s it has employed full-time and part-time staff, but volunteers remain indispensable to day-to-day operations.
What We Do
Pejepscot History Center operates three museums: the Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum, the Skolfield-Whittier House, and the Pejepscot Museum & Research Center. We provide guided tours, educational programs, historical resources, and expertise, as well as assistance with local history research.
