YOU can make a difference in the life of a senior! Many of our elderly community members are isolated and lonely. Most are unable to drive or take public transportation and don't always have family available to help them. You can make a difference in someone's life by providing companionship, visits, help with errands or grocery shopping, transportation to appointments, or help with correspondence. Some of our seniors just need someone to talk to, and to tell the stories of their very interesting lives growing up and working in Maine. If you can spend two to four hours a week with a senior, please contact us. See what a difference you can make and discover the rewards of volunteering!
Volunteers go through background checks and an orientation focusing on safety protocols. Extra safety protocols are in place during COVID-19 with most volunteers providing phone reassurance and doing errands for clients to minimize in-person contact.
