You can help make a real financial impact for hundreds of people in Mid Coast Maine. Midcoast CA$H is a free tax preparation service that brought over $766,000 back into the community last year.
3 Opportunities to get involved:
Tax Preparer: Prepare simple Federal and State taxes for middle- and low-income Mainers. No previous experience necessary, utilizing easy to use software and working with long-term volunteers – lots of guidance and training. Will obtain VITA and IRS certifications.
Opportunity Guide: Help connect tax filers with financial resources in the community! Opportunity Guides receive a two-hour training on working with clients and the range of services that are available as well as have support along the way.
Greeter: Welcome taxpayers to their appointment and help review documents for accuracy. This role is a fun, easy and necessary role to keep things running smoothly.
Tax sessions are many but not all Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays from January 30 - April 13, 2024. Locations for tax sessions are Bath, Wiscasset, Bowdoinham, Boothbay, and one TBD in Lincoln County.
