Description

Do you love the coast of Maine, lighthouse or sharing history? Are you outgoing or enjoy interacting with people?

Volunteer for the Friends of Pemaquid Point Lighthouse chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation, joining the 30+ Volunteer Docents who conduct tours inside the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. Situated on a bluff 35-feet above the Gulf of Maine, you will never have an “office” in your life that offers a more magnificent view!

No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and interest. An orientation of duties and information about the lighthouse will prepare you to enhance each visitor's experience.

Volunteer Docents help to:

  • Educate guests about the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse & the Pemaquid Peninsula
  • Provide guests access to the Lantern Room
  • Answer questions guests may have
  • Some opening or closing duties depending on shift.

If interested, click Respond and we will share your info with the volunteer who organizes the docent training and scheduling.
